Digital dentistry has changed our treatment plans. Digital implant treatments are
prosthetically driven,searching to place the implant fixation in the best restorative position.
Dental intraoral scans, cbcts and implant planning sotwares allow for a more precise and acqurate
treatment planning. Guided surgery makes our implant surgeries easier, more predictable and
more comfortable for the patients.
Navigation systems allow to locate bone, but surgical guides allow not only to place the implant in
its best tridimensional position at a more reasonable and affordable cost.
The advantages of guided surgery is discussed, and clinical cases with inmediate loading
retorations are presented.
Objectives : 1) To be able to understand the basics of guided surgery; 2) Guidelines to follow for a
correct digital implant planning; c) Understand the digital workflow from the implant planning to
the placement of the final restoration
