GBR or Guided bone regeneration, started in 1988. Since then the GBR is modified because of the appeareance of new biomaterials, and more understanding of biology.
This modifications opened widely the use of GBR in dental implant therapy.
This lecture aims to focus on the state of the art in the use of GBR in vertical and horizontal bone augmentation.

2- chosing the appropriate biomaterial upon the indication
3- Chosing the apropriate technique upon the indication
