Dental LASERs are continually proving themselves to be a valuable tool in the dental armamentarium. Every dental specialty can include LASER applications making treatment less traumatic, more efficient and virtually painless as compared to conventional treatment methods. LASERs are becoming an essential part of everyday dentistry. This lecture will inform dentists how to adopt this new and rising wave into their practice. An introduction to the LASER physics, different wavelengths, their interactions and their advantages will be given. The lecture will then proceed to display the array of LASER applications in different specialties of dentistry including periodontics, operative dentistry, Endodontic, Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, oral surgery and implant dentistry using case representations.
